Beth Vietmeier, of The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation, on Turning Setbacks into Opportunity

AUGUST 5, 2026

What do you do when the career you spent years chasing disappears overnight, and the detour turns out to be the opportunity of a lifetime?

“If you dream it and you want it bad enough, you can do anything you put your mind to.”

What began as a dream of becoming a sports broadcaster took an unexpected turn when an NHL lockout changed Bethany Vietmeier’s career path. Greg Weimer sits down with Bethany, founder of Valiant 3 Communications, to discuss the power of relationships, the importance of saying “yes” before you have all the answers, and how a willingness to adapt can open doors you never expected.

From working at Nevillewood Country Club and learning the art of communication to building a successful business alongside the Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation, Bethany shares lessons on entrepreneurship, resilience, networking, and purpose. Their conversation highlights how meaningful work is often found through unexpected opportunities and why making an impact on others remains the most rewarding measure of success.
